The Joshua David Gardner Memorial Scholarship Endowment is pleased to announce Toya Tanner as our 2019 scholarship recipient. Toya is a freshman at North Carolina A&T University.

Toya Tanner is a member of the National Honor Society and a graduate of Roosevelt High School (2019), located in Washington, D.C. During high school, Toya participated in the College Bound program, Debate Team and the Student Government.

Toya volunteered with numerous community organizations, including Promising Futures and the ASCEND Program of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. She’s completed internships with Octane Public Relations and the National Institutes of Health.

Toya plans to a major in Biology at North Carolina A&T State University. Toya wants to encourage other students to pursue success by focusing on their goals.
